Interesting front pages of newspapers disappear on line the next day and since I usually dislike having to dig into archives to re-access the front pages that catch my fancy, I decided to "capture" UK's The Independent before it disappears tomorrow.
I thought it's funny, I mean, The Independent's front page today looks like a page straight from a comic book and to think we are reading about UK's most influential political leaders, (well, that is if Tony Blair or any one of them doesn't end up in the docks for cash for honours scandal hogging the headlines.)
Anyway, the story in pics below is all about the most awaited Labour Party event: Blair finally anoints Brown his successor at No. 10 and not the Cash for Honours inquiry (allegations that financial contributions were made to a party in exchange for peerage - title of "Lord" or "Dame" of the realm stuff.) Well, seems the UK will have to do with Gordon Brown, another Scotsman in 10 Downing Street until the next general elections when the Tory Party fields David Cameron for a change in British leadership. Ugh! Hopefully, by that time, the Englishman would be heavyweight enough to champion the conservative cause!
Here it is the political comic strip! (You can also try accessing the page on The Independent link below and see if it hasn't disappeared ...Heh!)

It may seem like a comic book sequence to you guys. On my side of the Pond, we crave such repartee. The last time we had something hot in Congress was when your Galloway came over and touched off a firecracker in storming Norm's shoes.
Another thing. Blair may be Bush's poodle, but at least he does tricks. Bush is dumb as a stick. If you throw the stick away, the poodle will fetch it back. If you jam the stick in the ground, the poodle will dig it up. But what can a stick do on its own?
